Church Recorder Volunteers promote recognition and preservation of the rich artistic heritage in places of worship by recording the contents of churches of all religions. Participating churches are presented with an illustrated book detailing each item and its history. Copies are also sent to national institutions. If you are interested in getting involved with Church Recording, please contact email@example.com.
Heritage Volunteers are teams of committed non-specialist volunteers who work under the guidance of curators and other professionals to help conserve our heritage.
Heritage Volunteers undertake projects for museums, National Trust properties, historic houses, libraries and gardens. They give their time to care for collections, record documents and act as guides and stewards.
Current Leeds projects include on-site conservation of books, manuscripts, archives and maps at The Leeds Library. If you are interested in getting involved with Heritage Volunteers, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
YOUNG ARTS PROJECTS
Societies conduct a wide range of Young Arts Projects ranging from running arts awards to funding artists in residence in primary schools.
Leeds has supported Lineham Farm Children’s Centre for many years. We have provided a regular sum, supported fund raising events at the farm and at meetings, through the selling of Christmas cards, raffles, and also by being awarded a matched funding grant. The farm used our donation to buy art materials to enable creative activities for disadvantaged and disabled children on a residential break.
If you would be interested in getting involved with Young Arts please contact email@example.com
We are always looking for volunteers to participate and help run the many programmes we offer through The Arts Society Leeds. In addition to the programmes above, opportunities to help include serving on the committee that manages the lecture programme, study days, visits, and more.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the chairman.
